Measuring Medium

The vortex flow meter is a kind of velocity-type flow meter. It utilizes the principle of Karman vortex street, which determines the type of measurement medium like liquid, gas, or steam. At present, the vast majority of industrial occasions, such as nitrogen, compressed air, steam, heat transfer oil, etc., mostly use vortex flow meters to measure. When the measurement of viscosity or easy to precipitate the fluid, the vortex generator will have adhesion on the surface or sediment that will make the generator shape and size change, affecting the coefficient of the instrument; and the sensor has adhesion on the surface or sediment, the instrument’s sensitivity will be reduced. Pipe Size

Vortex flow meter according to the different ways of installation, can be divided into pipeline type and insertion type installation. For the pipeline type, the pipeline caliber and most other flow meters, the smallest one is DN15, and the largest one is possible to reach is DN300. If you need a larger caliber, you can choose the insertion of the installation. The conventional caliber range can be up to DN2000, DN2000 caliber above the agreement to supply. Instrument manufacturers are different, their selection methods will be different. You should be based on its corresponding selection method, to make detailed calculations to determine the size of the caliber. And you can’t blindly according to the caliber of the pipeline to choose the caliber of the flow meter. When selecting a vortex flow meter, you should notice the following points:

Reynolds number limit: when the Reynolds number Re <5 × 103, the vortex flow meter basically can not be measured, when the Reynolds number Re <2 × 104, due to the St non-linear bias, it leads to a large deviation in the measured value;

flow rate limit: for the measurement of the liquid flow rate, the maximum flow rate of 10m/s, the measurement of the gas flow rate, the maximum flow rate of 75m/s.

To make the flow rate of the flow meter, the vortex flow meter works in the measurement accuracy guarantee range, to try to choose that the nominal diameter of the flow meter is small. If the caliber of the flow meter is large, the flow rate in the low-limit operation makes the measured value inaccurate.

Measuring Accuracy

Vortex flow meter accuracy also has several levels and is divided according to the measuring medium. For pipeline type vortex flow meter, if measuring liquid, the measuring accuracy can reach 1.0 level; if measuring gas, the accuracy can reach 1.5 level. If it is an insertion vortex flow meter, the accuracy can reach 1.5 and 2.5 levels.

Medium Temperature

Usually, it is divided into three ranges, including normal temperature, medium temperature, and high temperature. The temperature range is -40 ~ 100 ℃ (room temperature), 100 ~ 250 ℃ (medium temperature), and 100 ~ 320 ℃ (high temperature). If the site medium temperature is higher, such as some superheated steam, you can use the orifice plate flow meter to measure.

Nominal Pressure

Mainly divided by the installation method, the nominal pressure in the market mainly demands the following categories, such as French card mounted (2.5MPa), flange connection type (1.0/1.6/2.5MPa), and insertion installation type (1.6MPa/2.5MPa/4.0MPa).

Power Supply

According to the current market demand, there are +12VDC (three-wire pulse output), +24VDC (three-wire pulse output type and two-wire current output type) 3.6V lithium battery, and dual power supply.

Output Signal

According to the current market demand, there are voltage frequency pulse output, two-wire 4-20mA output, and HART output. In addition, some occasions may need digital output, we can also provide Modbus RS485 communication.
